Ripe jackfruit is sweet and tropical, with flavour notes often compared to banana, mango, pineapple, and sometimes apple depending on the cultivar. The flesh is soft, dense, and slightly chewy, similar to gummy candy, and the aroma can be strong or slightly acrid, which some people find unusual. Ripe jackfruit can be eaten raw, added to smoothies, desserts, or fruit salads, and does not require cooking. The seeds inside the pods can also be cooked and eaten, offering a nutty flavour.

Should have strong fragrance. Do not refrigerate before ripe.

Cut into chunks and eat the yellow pods around the seeds.
